Throwing Rocks
My friend Karen and I spend a lot of time together. She’s one of my very best friends and she helps keep me grounded. I love visiting her apartment. It’s a quaint place, perfect for a single gal. I hate that it’s on the third floor; I’m not a big fan of stairs. But she has this amazing patio that overlooks a creek, and it’s always worth the climb.
The patio is such a nice place to be. It’s calming, relaxing, and the view is stunning at sunset. We have this thing that we do. It’s kind of silly, but at the same time, it’s slightly therapeutic. We gather a bunch of rocks from downstairs and throw them into the creek from the patio. With each rock, we throw away a negative trait or issue in our lives. We’ve thrown away rage and jealousy. We’ve thrown away anxiety and sadness. We’ve thrown away guilt. Sometimes the rocks are people, sometimes they are emotions. Not that those feelings or people won’t return, because, of course you can’t throw them away permanently. But, just for a little while, we feel a bit better about whatever is bothering us at the moment.
What rocks would you throw?

Hmmm, that's one I'll have to think on for now. For starters I'd throw away spam! And as I light yet another smoke I'd throw away this need to have a cigarette.
Good one, sky. I should throw out these Marlboros myself. Nasty habit.
Throw it away, Tommy. You're funny.
I kinda have a thing for sloths.
